Your role with us

With us, you will work independently on concrete and socially important projects that affect the municipality's future, while having support from your colleagues in the pipeline group as well as other colleagues in water and sewage, allowing you to exchange experiences.

You will work on projects and development of water and sewage systems that include climate adaptation, environmental requirements, and the development of new residential areas. As a water and sewage engineer in the water and sewage department, you will be involved in many of the municipality's projects and become an important person in the community building process with many points of contact in several departments, directly contributing sustainable water solutions for the future.

You will join the pipeline unit, and your tasks will be oriented towards both the renewal of existing water and sewage systems and development projects where stormwater systems and capacity investigations with simulations are an important part. In the unit, we work strategically with pipelines and stormwater, and we work closely with all departments in the municipality that handle environmental and community building issues. Our points of contact are both with consultants, project managers, operations staff, and supervisory authorities. You are expected to take your own initiatives, and you have good opportunities to shape the position based on knowledge and interest. You will be an important support in all the daily issues that the department handles, and above all, the unit's strategic planning for sustainable community development.

Who are we looking for?

You who are applying are a civil engineer or a university engineer with a focus on road and water construction. We want you to have several years of experience as an engineer in water and sewage and be a regular user of pipeline models. Experience with Scalgo and systems based on SWMM is an advantage, and if you also have an understanding of municipal operations and planning work, it is a plus.

Of course, you handle IT tools in your daily work and master the Office package, especially Excel and Word. Since the role involves a lot of communication, you need to have good communication skills and communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You need to have a B driver's license to easily get around the municipality when needed.

As a person, you are driven, responsible, meticulous, and self-sufficient. You must be good at collaborating both internally and externally. You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You find it easy to set goals, follow up, and complete activities. You prioritize collaboration and are a natural team player!

If necessary, the position may be placed in a security class, which means that a security review may be conducted before employment.

Our water and sewage department is part of the Technical Administration, which consists of Construction, Property Technology, Staff, and the Water and Sewage Department. The water and sewage department is divided into three units: Operations, Pipeline, and Projects/Lab. In the pipeline unit, we are 8 employees who together form a strong team in investigation, design, GIS, and measurement. You will join a group that works closely together on complex projects, where every idea is valued, and collaboration is highly regarded.

The Technical Committee is responsible through the Technical Administration for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public places and buildings. The committee also has the task of arranging municipal water and sewage supply.
